The sun began to rise over the horizon, spreading golden rays across the land which had been kept in darkness minutes before. The sky was already changing from dark blue to a beautiful bright cyan and the sun a dazzling orange. A gentle wind was blowing delicately through the forest, making the leaves sway gentle in the breeze. The silence was overpowering until the birds began to sing their beautiful awakening call. A deer and its young trod carefully through the forest, stopping ever so often to graze on the fruitful grass that fed many. The red deer and there beautiful red coat drifted slowly into the forest, the mother checking the forest for dangers, before proceeding.
The forest was particularly beautiful this morning, for winter had just turned into spring and the world was changing drastically. The snow had melted and now streams rushed down hills and trickled past the trees peacefully. The early morning dew glittered on the leaves and the grass, making the forest seem magical as an average sized she-wolf padded gently into the forest, her paw prints leaving faint indents in the grass. Her pelt consisted mostly of greys and creams, the occasional flecks of black around her neck and maw. The pelage was also brushed with red along the tail, hind legs and her underbelly. Large, glittering auburn hued eyes scanned the forest, her ears pricked as she listened to the distant sound of the red deer cautiously treading through the forest.
As the fae trotted through the forest, maw low in delight as she scented all around her, her tail swung happily as she inspected this new land. It had been a while since she had come across anything of any interest and now she felt especially optimistic that this forest had crossed her path. All the wonderful scents and smells filled her nostrils; she couldn’t help but examine every one of them. Raphyr licked her lips tastefully and trotted on through the forest, yawning in boredom as the scents began to get familiar, all of them registering in her mind. As she passed through the forest the boredom in her grew and she longed for some other wolf to enjoy this forest with her.
Raphyr slowed to a halt and sat next to a tree, peering around it to watch a squirrel with curiosity. A small smile rose on her maw and she leapt forward after it, energy firing through her limbs as she surged towards it and skidded to a halt as it ran up the tree. But, she didn’t wish the squirrel harm, only to play and she whined quietly as it escaped up the tree. Alas the squirrel was gone and now Raphyr was left to dwell once again on her own, solemnly she slipped down so was lying in the wet grass, her large eyes watching all around her, for any sign of movement.
